Kedarnath
The holiest of Shiva's shrines is likened to gold among base metals so that every pilgrim finds peace here, and it is said that devotees who die here become one with Shiva himself. The temple of Kedarnath, located at a height of 3,581 mts, stand at the head of the Mandakini river, with Kedarnath peak keeping vigil above it

Badrinath
Also known as Vishal Badri, this temple located at the height of 3,133 mts. is the largest Himalayas and most popular of Vishnu pilgrimages among the five Badries. The original temple here is believed to be built by King Pururava and the icon of the lord carved by Vishwakarma, the creator of the gods.

Gangotri
Gangotri is the place high in the Garhwal Himalayas from where the holy Ganges originates. According to the legend, it was here the Ganga descended on the earth, when Lord Shiva released the mighty river from the locks of his hair. The temple of Gangotri, dedicated to Goddess Ganga stands on the bank of the river.

Yamunotri
Yamunotri is situated in the western region of the Garhwal Himalayas and is at a height of 3,235 meters above sea level. Yamunotri is the source of the river Yamuna.The shrine of Yamunotri is located on the Bandar Poonch peak.

CHAR DHAM YATRA DAY TO DAY ITINERARY


Area covered : Delhi, Rishikesh, Barkot (Yamunotri), Barkot, Uttarkashi (Gangotri), Uttarkashi, Guptkashi, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Srinagar, Rishikesh / Haridwar, Delhi

Day 01: Delhi - Rishikesh (230 Kms / 7 - 8 hrs)
Morning drive to Rishikesh. On arrival check in at hotel. in the afternoon temple tour of Rishikesh. Overnight stay at hotel.
Rishikesh, located in the laps of lower Himalayas, and is surrounded by scenic beauty of the hills on three sides with Holy Ganga flowing through it. The whole place is considered to be sacred as it is believed that meditation at this place leads to attainment of salvation. There are many temples-some ancient, some new along the river Ganges. Rishikesh is important not only as pilgrimage centre closely associated with the Ramayana, but also as home for many important centers of Hindu religious thought and spirituality, and as a very great Yoga Centre. There are a great many ashrams and Yoga instituteshere.


Day 02: Haridwar - Barkot (215 Kms / 07 hrs)
Today morning pickup from Haridwar and drive to Barkot via Dehradun, Mussoorie, and en-route visit Kempty fall. Later continue drive to Barkot. On arrival Barkot Check In at Hotel / Camp.
Haridwar, lying at the feet of Shiva's hills, i.e., Shivaliks, in the Haridwar district of Uttarakhand,.


Day 03: Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot (42 Kms Drive / 6 Kms trek)
Morning leave for Janki Chatti via Hanuman Chatti & Fool Chatti. On arrival Janki Chatti start Trek of 06kms for Yamunotri, On Arrive Yamunotri Holy Dip in Garam Kund, than Pooja and Darshan of Shree Yamunotri Ji, after Darshan and Pooja, afternoon start trek back to Janki Chatti on arrival Janki Chatti meet with driver and drive back to Barkot. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Hanuman Chatti: The confluence of Hanuman Ganga & Yamuna River.
Yamunotri Temple: Maharani Gularia of Jaipur built the temple in the 19th Century. It was destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again.
Surya Kund: There are a Number of thermal springs in the vicinity of the temple, which flows intonumerous pools. The most important of these is Surya Kund.
Divya Shila: A rock pillar, worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple.


Day 04: Barkot - Uttarkashi (Drive 82 Kms / 04 hrs)
Morning leave for Uttarkashi, a drive of 82 kms. En-route visit Prakateshwar Cave, on arrival Uttarkashi check in at the hotel evening visit Vishwnath Temple, Overnight stay at the hotel.
Uttarkashi: Situated at the bank of river Bhagirathi. The temple of Lord Vishwanath is located here where a massive iron trident is erected. The other important temples situated here are Ekadash Rudra, Bhairav, Gyaneshwar and Goddess Kuteti Devi.


Day 05: Uttarkashi - Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 Kms. per way)
Early morning drive to Gangotri and on arrival take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges, also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja after that and relax for some time in the lovely surroundings, afternoon drive back to Uttarkashi, on arrival check into the Hotel.


Day 06: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (228 kms / 8- 9 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to Guptkashi, en-route visit Tehri Dam & continue journey towards Guptkashi. On arrival check in at the Camp / hotel. evening free at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel / Camp.


Day 07: Guptkashi - Kedarnath (32 Kms Drive / 14 Kms. trek)
Covered peaks. The present temple, built in the 8th century by Adi Shankaracharya, stands adjacent to the site of an earlier temple built by the Pandavas. The inner walls of the assembly hall are decoratedwith figures of various deities and scenes from mythology. Outside the temple door a large statue of the Nandi Bull stands as guard.
Morning drive to Gaurikund (32 kms drive-one way). On arrival Gaurikund start your journey on the tough Trek ahead. arrive by afternoon, on arrival check in to the Hotel / Guest Houses. After freshening up, perform Pooja and also Darshan at Shri Kedarnathji. In the evening also visit Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi behind the Temple.Overnight stay at the Hotel or Guest Houses.

Day 08: Kedarnath – Guptkashi (14 kms trek down / 32 km Drive)
Morning Pooja - darshan at the Temple, later start trek down to Gaurikund. On arrival meet with our drive & drive to Guptkashi. On arrival check in at the hotel / Camp. overnight stay at hotel.


Day 09: Guptkashi – Badrinath (173 kms / 7-8 hrs)
Morning leave for Shri Badrinath Ji. On arrival take the holy Darshan. (If time permit). Evening visit, Byas Gufa, Bheem Pul, Saraswati River, Overnight stay at hotel.

Tapt Kund: Natural thermal springs on the bank of the river Alaknanda, where it is customary to bathe before entering the Badrinath temple.
Narad Kund: A recess in the river, near Tapt Kund, forming a pool from where the Badrinath idol was recovered.
Mata Murty Temple: Devoted to the mother of Sri Badrinathji. Other important temples include SeshNetra Temple, Urvashi Temple and Charanpaduka.
Mana Village: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet.
Bhim Pul: On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge lies over the roaring Saraswati River. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.
Vyas Gufa (cave): Near Mana Village, this is a rock-cave where Ved Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the pauranic commentaries.


Day 10: Badrinath – Rudraprayag /Srinagar (156 kms / 7-8 hrs)
Morning after Arti Darshan drive to Rudraprayag, on arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Rudraprayag: One of the holy prayag of five famous prayag of Uttarakhand. Confluence of River Alaknanda and Mandakini.


Day 11: Rudrapryag - Haridwar (162 Kms / 6 hrs)
Morning drive to Haridwar. On arrival check in at hotel. in evening visit temples of Haridwar. Overnight stay at hotel.


Day 12: Haridwar – Delhi (210 kms / 6-7 hrs)
Morning drive to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi drop you at the Airport / Railway station for onwards destination.
