It is believed that the modern Naina Devi Temple at the northern end of the lake is the spot where her eye fell, after Vishnu chopped up her body and scattered it all over to stop Shiva's cosmic dance of destruction. Gurney House : Located atop Ayarpatta Hill, Gurney House, former home of Jim Corbett is located amidst thick oak, fir, deodar, pine and rhododendron. Today it is a museum of Corbett memorabilia.
